OBITUARY
THE REV. JOHN MILLER
A well-known Presbyterian minister, the Rev. John Miller, died in Christchurch last week, aged 79. He occupied charges in Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand. Mr. Miller was born in Leith, Scotland, and was educated at the University of Edinburgh and Ormond College, Melbourne. His first charges were in Melbourne. Later he returned to Scotland, where he was minister of a church in Arbroath. From .Scotland he went to Manchester and London, and then returned again to Melbourne. In 1911 Mr. Miller came to New Zealand and was inducted into the Presbyterian Church at Dipton, Southland. In 1913 he went to St. Clair, where he remained until 1926, when he went to St. Giles's, Papanui, Christchurch. He remained there until he retired in 1930. Mr. Miller was a Fellow oj the Royal Geographical Society, and chaplain to the Scottish Society in Christchurch. He was a chaplain in New Zealand camps during the Great War.
