His Excellency the Governor-Gene-ral, attended by Major C. J. HollandMartin, returned to Wellington from Auckland this morning. Later, his Excellency attended Divine service at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. This afternoon his Excellency received the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser). The Minister of Transport (Mr.! Semple) will leave for the north tonight on transport business. Mr. Tom M. Archei*, M.A., has been appointed an inspector of the Education Department. Mr. Archer is the second son of the Hon. J. K. Archer, M.L.C., and Mrs. Archer, Christchurch. Mr. A. T. Grandison, district manpower officer in Wellington, has been transferred on promotion to Auckland las registrar of social security. j Mr. D. I. Macdonald, secretary of; the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation, and Mr. S. J. Collins, of the Department of Supply, left Wellingjton for Auckland last night. ,
