BAN ON NEWSPAPERS
ACTION AT CANBERRA
CANBERRA, June 7.
All members of the staffs of the "Sunday Telegraph" and the "Daily Telegraph" were banned from the House of Representatives yesterday. The Speaker has instructed, other news organisations at Canberra which supply the "Daily Telegraph" with supplementary news services that'these must be discontinued.
The Perth "Sunday Times'," which published the same article as the "Sunday Telegraph," has also been included in the ban.
The proprietors of the Sydney "Sunday Telegraph" published an article entitled "Those Meddlesome Old Men of the Senate," and bs a result it1 was intimated that unless an unreserved apology was published the "Telegraph" staff would be prevented from reporting proceedings or interviewing Ministers in the House of Representatives. ;
