LONDON, April 23. The latest reports about the war in the Philippines show that at '*> Corregidor the intermittent divebombing attacks by the Japanese are diminishing. On Panay, the defenders are in contact with the Japanese in the south of the island. Fighting con- . tinues in Cejju. Enemy seaplanes attacked the northern districts of Mindanao. In the Netherlands East Indies, Australian and Netherlands forces are fighting on in Netherlands Timor, where they have now been holding out for two months. On March 9 the Japanese claimed that - they had surrendered.
