TROUBLE IN MONTREAL
• MONTREAL, March 25. Youthful crowds shouting "Down with conscription" blocked traffic, smashed a tramcar and store windows, following an anti-conscription mass meeting. The police prevented groups attempting to parade, with the result that there was a flurry of street fighting, in which one youth was injured. Eight demonstrators were arrested.
