SHANDON GOLF CLUB
The annual meeting of the Shandon Golf Club was held on Tuesday.
The president, Mr. P. J. Burke, said that the Hutt City Council had assured the club that it would not take over the links or press for a cessation of the club's lease till eireum--stances such as public demand or tlie Inability of the council to find alternative sports grounds necessitated it requesting the club to vacate the area. Though no assurance could be requested or obtained, it was the definite feeling that the club need have no fear about the security of its tenure till at least 1950.
