DUNELIN, February 24,

Four members of the Selangor Battalion in Malaya who were spending their furlough in New Zealand when Japan entered the war left Dunedin today to begin training at northern camps. The four men, all of whom are married, are Messrs. J. L. K. Brown, R. F. D. F. Bingley, J. Young and E. L. Jones. They will undergo a course of instruction before being recommissioned in the New Zealand Army.

When the Japanese entered the war the four men wished to rejoin their unit, but no means could be found of returning speedily to Singapore. When the necessary arrangements could be completed it was too late. Being eager to be in the fight against the Japanese, the men offered their services to the Army authorities here, and they have been accepted.
