"Shelters are being provided for all the colleges, but there are some which are regarded as of greater urgency than others, and the more vulnerable areas should be done first," said the chairman of the Wellington College Board of Governors, Mr. W. V. Dyer, at its meeting yesterday. "In the meantime, trenches are being put in at Rongotai."
The principals of the various colleges gave detailed reports of steps taken to meet an emergency.
