U.S. NAVAL CONTRACT
UNDESIRABLE EXCLUDED
WASHINGTON, February 23,
The navy announced the exclusion of George Deatherage from navy work because. the Secretary of the Navy (Colonel Knox) found .Deatherage to be an undesirable person within the* meaning of a naval contract.
It is noted that there has been coa» siderablc critical discussion of Deatheiw age's employment as-chief engineer 'to private contractors on a 30,000,000----dollar project at the JNbrfolk navil base because Deatherage? was formerly leader of an organisation known at the Knights of the White Camellia, who were allegedly Fascist and anti-semitic.
