BOWLING
PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP
For the Wellington Bowling Centre's championship pairs competition, to be held on the Karori Club's green next Wednesday, there are twenty-three entries, a number, as with the championship singles, constituting a record. Eepresentatives of the following clubs have been drawn to play in the first round, commencing at 9 a.m.:r-Sea-toun v. Central; Wellington v. Victoria. Khandallah v. Johnsonville, Thorndon v. Lyall Bay, Karori v. Newtown, Island Bay v. Otaki, Paraparaumu Beach v. Kelburn. The following have byes and will meet in the second round (along with first-round winners): Woburn v. Porirua Hospital, Otaki Railway v. Hutt, Eastbourne v. Petone, Plimmerton v. Hataitai, and Upper Hutt v. the Seatoun-Central winners.
In the final of the Karori pairs championship Dempster and Leadbeater (s) defeated Harper and Cathie (s).
