MAORI TROOPS VISITED
Pride at the fact that all the eligible men in his district were now in uniform was expressed by Sir Apirana Ngata. M.P. for Eastern Maori, when on a visit this week to a military ramp in the North Island. The pur pose of the visit was to interview the Maori members of the C.M.D. training unit, particularly his own tribe, the East Coast Maoris, who come from the area between Hastings and Waipiro Bay, and who comprise a large part of the Maori detachment Sir Apirana was accompanied by Lady Ngata Colonel C. G. Powles, Camp Commandant, and Major E Morgan.
