NO CHANGE IN LIBYA
PRAISE FOR SOUTH
AFRICANS
LONDON, February 19. There is no change in the general situation in Libya.
The latest news reaching London is that General Rommel has not advanced again after his withdrawal. It is thought that he is back beyond die Timimi-Mekili line from which he started his last thrust.
Major-General Ritchie, commander of the Eighth Army in Libya, has paid a tribute to the South African engineers, and in particular to the hazardous work they carried out during the recent withdrawal. The result of this work, he said, had been to rob the enemy of large quantities of munitions and stores which he counted on finding intact. :>■■:>.
