MANY WARSHIPS SUNK

BATAVIA, February 19. Details of Japanese ship losses, based on official reports, are:—
Battleships: Two probably sunk, two damaged. Cruisers: Seven sunk, four probably sunk, 11 damaged.
Destroyers: 13 sunk, three probably sunk, 11 damaged. Submarines: Six sunk, one probably sunk, one damaged.
Aircraft-carriers: One sunk, two probably sunk.
Transports: 52 sunk, 12 probably sunk, 23 damaged. Cargo ships: 23 sunk, four probably sunk, three damaged. -
Tankers: Seven sunk, two damaged
These figures do not include the losses inflicted in the,last few days on the enemy fleet off South Sumatra. These are said to have been heavier than has so far officially been claimed.
