Petone Red Cross Awards.

An enjoyable party was held recently in Petone, the occasion being the presentation of certificates and medallions won by members of the Petone sub-centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society at classes held during 1941. The function was an afternoon; one, and took the form of a musicale. Mrs. Alma Millward arranged the programme, and with her was associated Mrs. Isobel Halligan. Items by both these people and by the Petone Ladies' Choir were enjoyed. Misses Cooper and Robertshawe (of Red Cross Headquarters) were present, Miss Cooper presenting: the certificates and medallions Later, in a short spejech, she congratulated the Petone sub-centre on the work done during'-1941 and pointed out the value of the work to the. communjity.
