The Governor-General and Lady Newall intend visiting Stratford on Wednesday, February 25, and Hawera the following day. Mrs. O. H. Mead, who has been spending some months in the North Island, has returned to Christchurch. Mrs. J. H. Martin, Salamanca Road, Wellington, is at the Grand Hotel, Auckland. Mrs. K. Fish, Lower Hutt, is staying with Mrs. L. Fish, Devonport, Auckland. Mrs. H. L. Massey, Remuera, is visiting Wellington. . ' Miss Beryl Adams, Wellington, has returned home after spending a holiday in Christchurch. Mrs. J. D. Derig, Mount Eden, has returned to Auckland from a visit to Wellington. ' I Advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Rickman, Hataitai, that their [ only daughter, Mrs. Wylie Wakelin (formerly Miss Isobel Rickman), has arrived safely in England. She left Wellington in December to join her husband, Pilot Officer Wylie Wakelin, R.A.F. The Dominion conference of the National Council of Women, which was to have been held in Wanganui in March, has been abandoned, according to advice received from the Dominion president, Mrs. D. Mclntosh, Hamilton.; It will be replaced by a tworday meeting in Wellington on March 12 and 13.

Mrs. Florence Hasell, formerly Miss Florence Phillipson, died suddenly at New Plymouth last week. She was sub-matron of the New Plymouth Hospital and later was matron in charge of the temporary hospital at Okato district during the influenza epidemic of 1919.
