TWO YEARS' GAOL
ASSAULT WITH RAZOR
Two years' imprisonment with hard labour was the sentence imposed by Mr. Justice Johnston, in the Supreme Court today, on James Joseph Cavanagh, a seaman and labourer, aged 42, who had been found guilty by a jury of assaulting James Macken with a razor in Tory Street on December 19, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. His Honour took into account a recommendation for leniency made by-the jury. . ~ Mr. G. I. Joseph appeared for tne prisoner and Mr. W. R. Birks for the Crown.
