Councillor C. M. Bowden has been appointed Food Controller under the Wellington E.P.S., vice Mr. A. F.r H : Sutherland, who ; has resigned. Councillor Bowden's office is at., the Commercial Bank Chambers.
On a charge of pegging in; Marion Street, Myles Walsh, labourer, aged 69, was sentenced td a month's iihprisonmOnt with hard labour by Mr. J. ,'L. Stout, S;M;,' in 'the; Magistrate's" Court yesterday.
