LONDON, If-bruary 16. ' The Russians have recaptured more villages on the central and Kharkov fronts. The Germans counter-attacked in the Kharkov sector, but were hurled back by Soviet troops, who inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. Describing this operation, "Pravda" says that the enemy is exerting the utmost pressure to check the Russiail advance. The Germans attempted to outflank the Russian forces, but this failed, and the Germans are now in retreat, with the Russians; hard on their heels. Leningrad radio reports that on the northern front Soviet troops are breaking down the fierce German resistance and step by step are clearing Bussian soil of the invaders. According to Moscow radio, ther_ ; is heavy fighting on the Kerch Peninsula. Kerch was reoccupied by Russian troops some weeks ago.
