FOG AT RONGOTAI

LANDINGS AT PARAPARAUMU

Owing to foggy conditions at Rongotai airport this morning, the Union. Airways Lockheed from Auckland, en route to Christchurch and Dunedin. via Wellington, the north-bound machine on the same route, and an airliner on the Blenheim-Wellington-Nel-son run, all landed at and took off from the airfield at Paraparaumu. Although this is a normal procedure if Rongotai is found to be unworkable, it is believed it has been found necessary to use Paraparaumu by the company's large machines on only about three occasions to date. Passengers were transported to and from Paraparaumu by car, and there was necessarily some delay in the delivery of air mails.
