Gisborne's Message to
Mr. Churchill
(P.A.) GISBORNE, This Day. The following cablegram has been sent to Mr. Churchill by the Mayor of Gisborne, Mr. N. H. Bull:—
"Citizens of Gisborne desire to express their unbounded admiration of your inspiring leadership and the utmost confidence in your ability to lead the Empire to victory."
Mr. Bull explained that the message was the outcome of representations made to him by a substantial body of citizens, who felt that it was not out of place for even a small and remote town like Gisborne to express confidence in MrChurchill's leadership, and considered that New Zealanders should dissociate themselves from the critical attitude of Australia.
