BRITISH AIR OPERATIONS
(Rec. 1.20 p.m.) RUGBY, Jan. B. A Cairo communique states that a number of MelO9's and 110's were engaged by fighters of the South African Air Force and that several were so damaged that they probably failed to return to their base. Malta was raided yesterday and some slight damage was caused. From all operations eight of our aircraft are missing, but two pilots are believed to be safe.—B.O.W.
