LOSSES AT HONG KONG
TOKIO FIGURE FOR PLANES

The Tokio official radio announced that J. B. Vargas,.ex-secretary to President Quezon, is reported to have been appointed Mayor of Manila.
A Tokio broadcast for domestic consumption admitted that Japanese plane losses in the siege of Hong Kong were 81 machines, which is double the figure previously announced in the official international broadcasts.
