HAWAIIAN FORCE
' SPECIAL INFANTRY RESERVE
(Rec. 9 aon.)
NEW YORK, Jan. 8,
The Honolulu correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that military headquarters has authorised the formation of special armed "reserve infantry" consisting exclusively of whites; He adds that.the Hawaiian whites wish to trust the loyalty of the 157,000 Japanese in Hawaii, but "keep their fingers crossed," while a high Official candidly pointed but that the Japanese population in Hawaii caused a terrific headache.
The confusion would be unimaginable if a few who were loyalists in a Japanese Home Guard started filing against their fellow-territorials in case of invasion.
Hawaii, at some time, would have to pay a terrific price for the cheap labour imported years ago.
