SEVEN SHIPS BOMBED
BREST AN OBJECTIVE
(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 30. An Air Ministry communique states: "Aircraft of the Bomber Command last night attacked the enemy naval base at Brest in clear weather. Many bombs were seen to burst across the docks. "Enemy aerodromes in the Low Countries were also attacked. One of our aircraft is missing. "Last night aircraft of the Coastal Command bombed a number of objectives in Norway. A squadron of Hudsons made a lowlevel attack on a concentration of shipping in the harbour and anchorages at Aalesund. "Hits were obtained on seven ships, two of which were seen to sink.
"A fish-oil factory and barracks also were attacked and anti-aircraft posts were silenced. Beaufort aircraft hit an enemy supply ship off Statland and bombed the docks at Bergen.
"An enemy- bomber, was destroyed Off the south-west boast of England byaircraft of the1 Coastal^Command: this morning. None of. our aircraft is missing."
It is officially announced that offensive patrols have been flown over northern and .north-western France today. Shipping was attacked off Boulogne and Le Havre, and at Morlaix aerodrome a hangar containing aircraft was set on fire.
