PLUNKET BALL
EAST HARBOUR SOCIETY
"CARRY ON"
With resolute determination to "carry on" in these increasingly difficult times, the East Harbour Pluriket Society held its' annual ball" oh Saturday night' in the Day's Bay pavilion, culminating the year's work with one whole-hearted and''successful effort to raise revenue. The ladies' committee was fortified by a strong committee of men and exr schoolboys headed' by Mr. C. Girdlestone, and further male assistance was received by; the president, Mrs. C. Girdlestohe,;. in the form of donations made to her during the evening.
Striking and appropriate decorations, excellent dance music, relayed by a sound system to every part of the hall, aiid a particularly good supper of entirely home-made dainties and piping hot coffee expeditiously served, combined to make a happy and most enjoyable occasion.'
, Buffet; dinners preceding tlje ball were giyen by Mrs. C. Girdlegtohe, Mrs. "A. G. Birch, and Mrs: R: p. Withell. ;The guests, of horiour were Mrs. H. Jowett, ; president of •_the; Wellington Plunket committee,, and Mr. Jowett.
