AT DESTINATION
BIG A.I.F. CONTINGENT
REACHED MIDDLE EAST

SYDNEY, August 18,
It is officially announced that the largest A.I.F. contingent to leave Australia has arrived safely in the Middle East.
Two more contingents of R.A.A.F. men have arrived in Canada.
The Army Minister, Mr. P. C. Spender, announced that the War Cabinet had decided to form a Women's Home Army as soon as possible to do noncombatant duties being done now by men.
Mr. Spender said that women had been coming forward to help in everincreasing numbers, and that during the next year it was hoped to absorb many thousands.in war work.
