(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. "In view of the changed conditions and information I gained from Mr. Nash and the Chiefs of Staffs in Wellington recently, it is clear that further action must be taken in connection with the Emergency Precautions organisations," said the Mayor, Mr. Allum, today. "What twelve months ago was a possibility has now become a probability, and action must be taken to meet the changed conditions." Mr. Allum said that warning signals in Auckland having proved inadequate,- a more efficient arrangement was being made, and further tests would be carried out. A survey of buildings was in progress, and steps had been taken to ensure a complete black-out during an emergency at night.
