BRITAIN, U.S., AND U.S.S.R.
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, August 17. The Moscow wireless reports that, after receiving the Anglo-American Note from the British Ambassador and the United States Ambassador, the Soviet Prime Minister, M. Stalin, asked them to express his thanks and satisfaction to President Roosevelt and Mr. Churchill, and to convey also the heartfelt thanks of the peoples of the Soviet Union for their readiness to aid the Soviet in its war of liberation against Hitlerite Germany.
M. Stalin added that he was ready to make all preparations to convene a meeting in Moscow, as suggested in the Note, at the earliest possible date. The Foreign Commissar, M. Molotov, was present when the Note was handed tp M. Stalin.
The diplomatic correspondent of the "Sunday Times" says he understands that the Minister of Supply, Lord Beaverbrook, will lead the" British dele-
gation to the Moscow conference, and that the administrator of the Lease and Lend programme, Mr. Hopkins, will be America's chief representative. The conference will cover a wide range of subjects, including Russia's need to replenish her supplies of tanks and raw materials, and the maintenance of supply routes to Russia.
Russia will be represented at a conference to be held in London shortly for the endorsement of the eight-point Anglo-American declaration.'
