DAYLIGHT OFFENSIVE
CHANNEL & NORTH FRANCE
LONDON, August 17
In a daylight offensive today over the Channel and northern France seven enemy fighters were shot down. An enemy tanker- was hit by a torpedo and an anti-aircraft ship was damaged in a daring low-level attack.
The R.A.F. lost two fighters and one bomber.
