Turkish Satisfaction
' LONDON, August 15. The British and Russian Note* to Turkey pledging her aid in the event of attack are welcomed todayin the Turkish Press. All the newspapers emphasise that the declaration gives the Turks great satisfaction because it kills all the ■• rumours spread by the Axis that Britain and Russia had evil plank against Turkey. The newspaper "Ulus" says that the British Note- reaffirms the " obligations of the treaty, about which there never has been the slightest doubt or hesitation on either side. one Black Guard division, and 12 regiments. In addition, 21 divisions have lost over 50 per ce*nt. of their effectives. It appears that these figure*f refer only to some sections of the front, and it is believed in Moscow that many other enemy divisions have been entirely or partly destroyed. According to the Germans' own revised time-table, the capture of Leningrad, Moscow, and Kiev is now a fortnight overdue. Berlin spokesmen are still -emphasising the difficulties of I supply.
