MR. FRASER GOES TO CHURCH

New Zealand's Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) was escorted to church in Cairo by two members of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. In a letter to relatives in Wellington one soldier states that prior to entering the church he and another New Zealand soldier were talking nearby when Mr. Fraser rrived unescorted. He shook hands with the New Zealanders and, after a chat, entered the church with them, sitting between them during the service. After the service the two soldiers persuaded Mr. Fraser to accompany them to a supper that had been arranged, and the Prime Minister was introduced to the minister of the church and generally made very welcome. A speech in his honour was made, and in reply Mr. Fraser gave quite a stirring address. "It all went off very well," states the soldier in his letter. "Mr. Fraser had supper with us and signed dozens of auto graphs. It was quite an event for us and we were thrilled, not only because he was Mr. Fraser, but because of what he represented—our homes, our friends, and New Zealand."
