Nicol, Ashburton, and Miss Valeric Riddiford, ariuved from Christchurch yesterday, en route for Marton, to attend the wedding of Miss Rosalind Arkwright, Marton, to Mr. A. Fullerton-Smith, which takes place today. Miss Riddiford and her sister, Mrs. John Barraud, Auckland, will attend their cousin as bridesmaid and matron of honour respectively. A former Mayoress of Christchurch who was well known for her interest in charitable organisations, Mrs. Mary A. Beanland, died last week. She held office on the New Zealand Croquet Council. ■ Mrs. F. K. Faulkner, Havelock North, is visiting Wellington. Miss Betty Ness, Brougham Street, is spending the weekend at Christchurch and will be the guest of Mrs. R. N. Qrampton. 'Miss Roberta Baird, Fendalton, Christchurch, is visiting Wellington for a few days. Mrs. R. S. Kent is paying a brief visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Eilers are Wairarapa visitors to Wellington. Mrs. Martinius Andersen, Hataitai, has returned after a brief trip to Taranaki and Wanganui. Miss Daphne Eilers, Wairarapa, who has been the guest of Misses Diana and.
