TO HELP ANGLICAN HOMES
In the Wellington Diocese the Church of England has five homes and orphanages maintained for the care of orphan and dependent children. The scope j of the work is wide, ranging from the j care of babies at St. Barnbas' Home, j Khandallah, to the training of older boys in a well-equipped farm home j in the Wairarapa. Girls and boys of all ages are brought up in these homes in a Christian atmosphere, with efficient and homely attention to their physical, mental, and spiritual welfare. To help in supporting the homes the Diocesan Social Service Board has been given permission to hold a street day in Wellington on Wednesday next, j August 20. The whole of the proceeds of the collection will be used to help the homes and an appeal is confidently made to the public to support the work generously.
