WORK RESUMED
THE BELFAST CHAIN
A TRIBUNAL SET UP
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Work was resumed on the chain at the Belfast works of Messrs. Thomas Borthwick and Sons this morning. A tribunal consisting of three representatives of the Company and three representatives of the union has been appointed, with an independent chairman, to consider the points at issue in the dispute. Mr. R. T. Bailey, officer-in-charge of the Labour Department, gave a promise yesterday to both the company and workers that th» appointment of a tribunal would be made without delay by the Minister of Labour, and a meeting of the workers decided to accept the company's offer to start the chain. It was understood that the chain would include the two men originally selected by the company.
