DECISION URGED
THE EXPORT POLICY
PERISHABLE PRODUCE
FARMERS' CONCERN
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A plea to the Government to make a decision in reference to the of perishable produce this year was made by Mr. W. Mulholland, Dominion president, at the conference of the Auckland branch of the.New Zealand Farmers' Union. "The most important point," he said, "is what is the Government policy regarding payment for produce next year. That decision could be made now." It should be realised that it was impossible to maintain productive capacity unless the income of the farmers j was sufficient, hence production depended on the financial policy, he said. In such a crisis prompt decisions would never be made by a party Government, which needed to consider theeffect of its decisions on its party members.
