COLONEL MURRAY'S CAREER
Colonel Murray had had a long and distinguished military career, commencing from 1900, when he served with the Royal Army Medical Corps in the South African War. His service in New Zealand dates from 1908.: In 1914 he was sent overseas as Officer Commanding No. 2 Field Ambulance. After the war of 1914-18 he was appointed Assistant Director of Medical Services for' the New Zealand Division, and on his return to New Zealand in 1919 he acted, for some months as Officer Commanding the 'military annexe of the Auckland Hospital. At the outbreak of the present war he was appointed Regional Deputy under the National Medical Committee for the Auckland district, and was responsible for the organisation and .control of . Civilian Medical Boards.
