REGULATIONS GAZETTED
Regulations gazetted last night give authority for the' appointment of a munitions controller, upon whom wide powers are conferred. The Controller will come under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Supply and Munitions, and his general functions will be to organise and promote the production of munitions, and to ensure the supply of labour, materials, plant, tools, and equipment for this purpose. The controller may also be required to deliver munitions to any country within the British Dominions, and to acquire, provide, and supply munitions (not being aircraft, motor vehicles, or ships) as required by or on behalf of the Government of any British country.
The controller will be given power to require the proprietor of any undertaking to cease, restrict, or increase production of any specified class of goods, or to produce any munitions which may be specified. He may also, regulate, restrict, and control the use, sale, supply, distribution, and disposal of munitions generally.
