CLAIM FAILS
The claim of Alfred Stanley Tonks against Tonks and Andrews, shingle and sand contractors, for injury to his eye alleged to have been sustained from infection through his treatment of the sore eye of one of the horses he was wont to drive, has been dismissed by the Compensation Court. Mr. Justice O'Regan, in a reserved judgment, after reviewing the evidence, held that the plaintiff's infection could not be traced to the horse, and that on other grounds too the claim must fail. At the hearing Mr. W. G. L. Mellish appeared for the plaintiff and Mr. W. E. Leicester for the defendant.
