GUIDES TO CALL AGAIN
WASTE MATERIALS NEEDED
BY FORCES
Girl Guides will call on householders again this Saturday and collect the parcels of cotton materials which householders have been requested to have ready. The Army and Air Force will need one hundred tons of cleaning cloth within the next four months and two tons is wanted immediately. It is important that the rags be reasonably clean.
A' buffet tea with a triple purpose was given yesterday by the Victoria League for three junior members who are to be married shortly. Mrs. J. A. Doctor presented gifts to each of the guests of honour, who were Misses Margaret Briggs, Hilda Webster, and Marjorie Osborne, and they were accorded musical honours. Miss Briggs is to be married in Australia. Miss Osborne in Wellington, and Miss Webster in Ireland. She is leaving shortly for overseas.
