SERIOUS SHORTAGE

FEEDING STUFFS IN BRITAIN

(British Official Wireless.) (Received March 1, 12.30 p.m.)

RUGBY, February 28.

Speaking today Mr. Williams, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, announced that the supply of feeding stuffs, especially so far as cereals are concerned, is serious, and that it will be necessary to. make a further cut in supplies on April 1. Details of the arrangements, he said, would be announced as soon as possible, but he feared that it was inevitable that a further and very drastic cut would have to .be made in the supplies issued to poultry keepers. Supplies in April will be sufficient to provide a full ration for only one-sixth of the laying flocks of poultry kept on June 4, 1939.
