PRESERVATION OF SURREY SHOW PLACE
(British Offfcial Wireless.)
RUGBY, February 13
For many years one of the show places of Surrey, Morden Hall, situated in a magnificent park, has been assured to future generations in all its beauty. By the terms of the will of the late Mr. Hatfield the National Trust will take over this estate for preservation as an open space in the midst of what has become one of London's built-up areas. Mr. Hatfield made the hall into a convalescent home for mothers and children and also bequeathed a large sum for the maintenance of the park.
