PARACHUTE TROOPS
REPORTED DROPPED IN ITALY

(Received February 15, 11 a.m.) LONDON, February 14. A Rome communique stated that on the night of February 10 the British dropped parachute troops in the Calabria region, southern Italy, and that all were captured.
The full text of the Italian communiques is: "The enemy landed parachutists in the district of Calabria, their object being to destroy the lines of communication and damage the local hydro-electric power station. Owing to the vigilance and prompt intervention of defence units, all the parachutists were captured before they were able to cause serious damage. One gendarme and one civilian were killed in the engagement." The High Command warns the Italian public to watch for more.
