COMPULSORY LOANS
PROPOSAL IN AUSTRALIA

SYDNEY, February 14.
The Canberra correspondent of the "Sun" says that State Governments are at present investigating a proposal for compulsory loans as an alternative to higher taxation as a means of financing the war- effort. The plan aims at the collection of funds by the States and a loan of a lump sum to the Federal Government
