CHILD HANGED BY SWING

INVERCARGILL, February 14,
Ralph William Lowe, aged four, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lowe, Barm Street, Bluff, was accidentally hanged this evening. The child was swinging on a single-rope swing having a cross stick at the bottom. The rope was frayed, and it is thought that he placed his head between the strands of the rope and slipped from the stick.
