ST. PAUL'S NURSING DIVISION

The St. Paul's Nursing Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade reports a substantial increase in membership for the year. The division considers i< has been most fortunate to secure the services of Dr. Phillipp and Sister Me Kenzie as their divisional surgeon and nursing sister respectively. At the annual inspection, which was carried out in Wellington College grounds, the division was very proud'to be the onb one to have its nursing sister and doc tor also on parade.

A total of 516 hours 45 minutes were put in by members of the division at the Centennial Exhibition, a total of 34 cases being attended. With first aid and home nursing throughout the year, a total of 94 people were assisted. Many members, apart from those tranr ing as nursing aids, have been assist ing regularly at the hospitals. Altogether 100 hours were put in. Some 70 afternoons throughout the year have been "spent by some of the members assisting at the Plunket rooms.

Members, have shown themselves most willing to assist all calls for volunteer workers on the various street, days, including Rose Day and Poppy Day. Sister McKenzie, Mrs. Davies, and Miss Osborn have been in regular attendance on Fridays at the Red Cross rooms in connection with work for the military hospitals. In the schoolroom, Sydney Street East, a box is kept into which is put anything from bandages to bedsocks which may be of use to the forces.

The division held its annual meeting the other evening. The secretary and treasurer received hearty congratulations on their reports. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Dovey for his auditing, and gratitude was expressed for the help given by Canon Davies, the Rev. Mr. Collard-Scruby. the vestry of St. Paul's, and Mr. Wil liams.
