Japan's task is "to sweep away the remains of the white empire" in the Far East, the Tokio newspaper "Yomiuri" declared recently. The newspaper said further RussianGerman co-operation inevitably would weaken the British-dominated . . "old order," and that Japan, was driving for the. same goal in the Orient. "The work left for Japan;" it asserted, "is to sweep away the remains of the white empire which so long has held sway in our part of the world."
