NOT AN OBSTACLE
ANTI-COMINTERN PACT
LONDON, February 14.
The Japanese Foreign Minister, Mr. Matsuoka, told the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives in Tokio today that he hoped for better relations with the Soviet Union. When one member-asked if it would not help relations with the Soviet.to terminate the Anti-Comintern Pact, -he replied that the pact was not directed against the Soviet but against Communists and their activities throughout the world. He was of the opinion that M. Molotov might not necessarily have meant the Anti-Comintern Pact when he referred to "an obstacle standing in the~ way of better RussoJapanese relations."
