"KEEN AND ABLE"

NATIONAL RESERVE UNITS

PRAISED BY BRIGADIER

At present in camp at the Central District School of Instruction, Foxton, are approximately 20 officers and 40 n.c.o.s of National Military Reserve units in the Central Military District who are undergoing a thirteen days' course which commenced on Monday of this week and will terminate on January 25. The syllabus covers drill, rifle training, light machine-gun training, field craft, section leading, and field works. x

A similar course was held in December, so that at the conclusion of this course a considerable number of the officers and n.c.o.s of National Reserve units in this district will have received intensive training which will assist them in dealing with their units.

"These units are showing considerable progress, are keen, and at recent inspections have proved their ability to undertake the tasks allotted to them," said Brigadier N. L. McD. Weir, N.Z.S.C, Ofiicer Commanding the Central Military District, in an interview today. "This progress has only been made at considerable personal sacrifice by all ranks and units, and they are to be highly commended for the attention given and regular, attendance at the parades called."
