In order to meet the siturjtion the Minister of Labour (Mr. Wfibb) has arranged for a conference of.; freezing works employers and workei.7i to evolve some way of overcoming, the difficulty. The conference is meeting in Christchurch this afternoon i under the chairmanship of the Conciliation Commissioner,! Mr. S. Ritc.'frue.

At a time like ' the present it is most essential that employers and workers should get together to ensure, that there shall be no diminution of production, and to support New Zealand's war effort. "To avoid wastage of the fat stock offering at the freezing works in Canterbury I appeal to both the employers and the workers to get together in a spirit Qf co-operation and endeavour to evolve some scheme that will overcome the present difficulties at the freezing works."-
