CIVIL DAMAGE
BY DEFENCE MACHINES
When the Minister of Finance (Mr. Nash) was asked today if there was any provision for payment for damage done to civil property by military aeroplanes, as happened yesterday when a house was struck, he said that so far as he knew no special provision was made for such accidents. In the case of negligence on the part of those operating the machine responsible the person whose property was damaged would have a civil claim.
Mr. Nash added that when, buildings were damaged by an aeroplane crash at Ak'arba the' Government had paid compensation. It is understood that similar action will be taken under similar conditions.
